MudGirl Studios x Ocean Exclusive Birthday Collaboration

Ocean Casino Resort is proud to be teaming up with MudGirls Studios. Mudgirls Studios has been commissioned on three separate projects in celebration of Ocean’s 5th Birthday. The clay artisans at Mudgirls are hand crafting exquisite platters for Ocean’s new Suite product. The platters capture the Suites beach-scape aesthetic in light hues and will add to the elevated touches throughout the Suite. MudGirls will also be providing small wave-ripple bowls, inspired by the ocean waves in stunning blue tones.

The final project is in celebration of our team members as they reach their 5^th Anniversary. The artisans have carefully pressed, formed, cut and glazed over 800 individual tiles which will be installed by MudGirls Studios, further enhancing Ocean’s back-of-house halls for our team members to admire. Working in direct collaboration with MudGirls designer, Dorrie Papadementriou, the tiles will reflect the beautiful colors of the ocean, beach and sky and will forever memorialize our team members with their names and ID numbers. This art installation will carry through 38 feet of wall space and incorporate a hand-painted wave design to enhance visual interest.

About MudGirls

MudGirls Studios is a non-profit 501(c) (3) clay studio that empowers and employs at-risk, homeless and formerly incarcerated women to create ceramic artwork in our studio space in the heart of Atlantic City, NJ. MudGirls Studios helps women transition onto a pathway towards self-sufficiency and out of poverty. We use clay as our vehicle to change lives through their own creations and sales of functional art and architectural tiles. We provide a safe environment, a positive community and provide them with access to support services. Women working together in a ceramic studio learn to how to create, coordinate, and become a team. Through these shared experiences they regain self-esteem and contribute to the artistic vibriance of the community, while at the same time earning supplemental income.
