Spanish 21
Spanish 21 is similar to traditional Blackjack but with more options and payouts. One difference is that all numbered “10” cards are removed from the deck leaving 48 cards in each deck. Jacks, Queens and Kings count as 10. Aces count as 1 or 11 (whatever is to the Player’s advantage). All other cards count at face value.
Spanish 21 has the same rules as traditional Blackjack with the following exceptions:
How to play Spanish 21
Player’s Blackjack
Player’s Blackjack (pays 3 to 2) always beats Dealer’s Blackjack.
Player’s total of 21
Player’s total of 21 always beats the Dealer’s total of 21.
Certain Player “21” totals result in additional Spanish 21 payouts.
Pair splitting
Players may split cards of equal value including Aces up to three times, creating four hands. Hitting and doubling of split hands including Aces is permitted.
Double Down Rescue
After a Player Doubles Down they may choose to RESCUE (take back) the doubled portion of his or her bet, but forfeits the original wager. Busted Double Downs cannot be rescued. Double Down Rescue is permitted after splitting.
Surrender
After a Player has received their first two cards, they may elect to “Surrender” half of their original wager. Half of the original wager will collected by the Dealer and the Player’s cards will be collected by the Dealer. The Player may not use hand signals when requesting to Surrender. Instead they must verbalize their request to the Dealer.
