Spanish 21 is similar to traditional Blackjack but with more options and payouts. One difference is that all numbered “10” cards are removed from the deck leaving 48 cards in each deck. Jacks, Queens and Kings count as 10. Aces count as 1 or 11 (whatever is to the Player’s advantage). All other cards count at face value.
Spanish 21 has the same rules as traditional Blackjack with the following exceptions:
Player’s Blackjack (pays 3 to 2) always beats Dealer’s Blackjack.
Player’s total of 21 always beats the Dealer’s total of 21.
Certain Player “21” totals result in additional Spanish 21 payouts.
Players may split cards of equal value including Aces up to three times, creating four hands. Hitting and doubling of split hands including Aces is permitted.
After a Player Doubles Down they may choose to RESCUE (take back) the doubled portion of his or her bet, but forfeits the original wager. Busted Double Downs cannot be rescued. Double Down Rescue is permitted after splitting.
After a Player has received their first two cards, they may elect to “Surrender” half of their original wager. Half of the original wager will collected by the Dealer and the Player’s cards will be collected by the Dealer. The Player may not use hand signals when requesting to Surrender. Instead they must verbalize their request to the Dealer.
All Spanish 21 payoffs are based on the Players’ hands totaling 21.
If the Player receives three 7s of the same suit and the Dealer’s up card is a 7, the Player is also paid a fixed bonus depending on the amount of the wager. $5–$24.50 wager wins $1,000, $25+ wager wins $5,000. An Envy Bonus of $50 is paid to all Players that made a wager during that round of play. Splitting/Doubling VOIDS Super Bonus.
Players may place a side wager that will win if either one or two of their initial cards match the dealers up card. The Minimum bet on Match the Dealer is $1 and the Maximum is $100.
