In late June, Ocean Casino Resort turned five—but we’re not done celebrating yet. In fact, our summer-long birthday extravaganza is continuing through Labor Day!
More than just a birthday party, our summer extravaganza is a celebration of the binding ties we share with our local community. That’s why we've teamed up with cherished local businesses to create an immersive experience that showcases these incredible communal bonds.
Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight one of these partnerships: our collab with MudGirls Studios.
The MudGirls Studios Collaboration
At Ocean Casino Resort, we constantly seek to enhance our commitment to the community, intertwining luxury with local spirit and infusing our spaces with authentic art. That's why we're excited to announce our unique collaboration with MudGirls Studios—a non-profit organization empowering women in challenging circumstances.
The lovely and talented artists of MudGirls Studios have been commissioned for three special hand-crafted projects that we can’t wait to unveil to our guests: Suite Platters, Wave-Ripple Bowls, and Ocean Casino Resort 5th Anniversary Tiles.
Let’s dive into the details of each.
The Suite Platters
We've always taken pride in our coastal roots. In homage to the east-coast beach spirit we embody, the skilled artisans at MudGirls Studios have meticulously hand-crafted exquisite platters that will be showcased in our 460 new hotel rooms and suites.
The new, 463 ft2 Contemporary Blu rooms were inspired by the colors and patterns of the Atlantic City shoreline—and the platters will be, too. Infused with light, soothing hues that echo the surrounding beachscape, the platters will blend in seamlessly with our refined interiors, adding an element of local craftsmanship to each room while subtly alluding to the natural beauty of our incredible city.
Wave-Ripple Bowls
As a tribute to the rhythmic beauty of our beloved Atlantic Ocean, MudGirls artisans have also created stunning wave-ripple bowls in captivating blue tones.
These intricately designed pieces not only symbolize the profound bond between Ocean Casino Resort and the Atlantic City community—they also serve as a tactile reminder of our connection with the sea.
The 5th Anniversary Tiles
Our partnership with MudGirls Studios has provided an invaluable opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the many contributions of our Ocean Casino Resort team members. These dedicated individuals have been instrumental in our journey. Without them, we wouldn’t be celebrating our fifth anniversary.
And so, we commissioned MudGirls Studios founder and lead designer, Dorrie Papadementriou, to create a special tribute to our Ocean Casino Resort family. The result is over 800 meticulously crafted tiles—each one individually imprinted with the name and ID number of a team member. Awash in the serene hues of the ocean, beach, and sky, these tiles will transform a 38-foot stretch of our back-of-house hallways into a lasting tribute to our team's dedication and spirit.
We hope that these stunning tiles will immortalize the contributions of our incredible team members and inspire others for years to come!

MudGirls studio is in the business of changing lives, one woman at a time, by making hope out of clay.
Based in Atlantic City, MudGirls Studios is a non-profit that helps transform the lives of at-risk, homeless, and formerly incarcerated women through functional artwork, ceramics, and pottery. In a safe environment, these women learn to create, coordinate, and become a team, contributing to the artistic vibrance of the community while earning supplemental income.
