The Digital Key allows you to use your smartphone as your room key. Through the Ocean Mobile App, you can check in and unlock your room without needing a physical keycard. When you're within range of an equipped lock, enabled Bluetooth and on Ocean Wifi, a signal is sent between it and your smartphone or tablet. They communicate, and the door unlocks with the tap of a button. How do I use a Digital Key? To use a Digital Key: Log in to your Ocean Rewards account on the Ocean Mobile App. Don't have the app? Download the Ocean Mobile App from the App Store or Google Play. Once your room is ready, your digital key will be activated in the app. On the Account tab, navigate to the My Resort Experience and scroll to Digital Room Key. Tap the Digital Room Key button and hold your phone near the sensor on the door until it unlocks. Who is eligible to use Digital Keys? At this time, only Ocean Rewards Cardholders are eligible to get Digital Keys. To use your Digital Key, you must sign in to the Ocean Mobile App using your email and password. Once you have linked your Ocean Rewards account to your username and password you are eligible to use Digital Keys. I booked a cash room reservation; can I still use a Digital Key? If you have an Ocean Rewards account and you booked a cash room reservation, you may ask the Front Desk to add your Ocean Rewards number to your reservation so that you can use a Digital Key. If you do not have an Ocean Rewards account then you are unable to use Digital Keys. Do I need a smartphone to use the Digital Key? Yes, a compatible smartphone (iOS or Android) with the Ocean Mobile App installed is required. If you don’t have a smartphone or prefer not to use the digital key, traditional physical keycards are still available at the Front Desk. Is the Digital Key secure? Absolutely. The digital key uses encrypted technology and is tied to your specific reservation. It’s only active during your stay and deactivates after checkout. The app also requires username and password to access the key. When do I get my Digital Key? Once your room is ready on the day of your arrival, it will be available in your Ocean Mobile App until you check out. What if my phone battery dies? If your phone runs out of power, don’t worry! You can visit the Front Desk to get a traditional physical keycard. What if my device is lost or stolen? If your smartphone or tablet is missing, let the Front Desk know so they can take steps to ensure your Digital Key cannot be used and to pick up a physical key (if needed). We always recommend that our guests password-protect their smartphones and tablets using their device's native security features. Can I share my Digital Key with someone else? Not at this time. Only the primary guest on the reservation can access the Digital Key. Does the Digital Key work without an internet connection? No, unfortunately you will need to be connected to the Ocean Wifi for your Digital Key to work. Can I use the Digital Key for multiple rooms? It depends, if your room has connecting rooms then your digital key will work on those doors. If you have 2 separate reservations, then your Digital Key will only work on one of those rooms. If this is the case, please check with the Front Desk to confirm you have a Digital Key for your preferred room. What if the Digital Key doesn’t work? If you have trouble unlocking your door, ensure you are connected to the Ocean Wifi, Bluetooth is enabled and the app is open. If the issue persists, visit the front desk for assistance—we’ll troubleshoot the problem or provide a physical keycard as a backup. How do I connect to Wifi and enable Bluetooth? Go to settings on your phone and navigate to Bluetooth and ensure it is turned on. To connect to Wifi, open your Wifi setting and look for the network named Ocean. No password is required to connect. Is there a cost to use the Digital Key? No, having a Digital Key is free for all Ocean Rewards Cardholders. You just need to download our app and have a valid reservation. Can I still check in at the front desk if I use the Digital Key? Yes! The digital key is an optional convenience. If you prefer a traditional check-in experience, our staff at the front desk are happy to assist you with a physical keycard. What if I need to arrive early? Your Digital Key will arrive when your room is ready. If you need to arrive sooner, we'll do our best to accommodate you. Please contact the Front Desk and they'll assist you further. What happens to my Digital Key when I check out? Your digital key automatically deactivates upon checkout, so you won’t be able to access your room or other areas after your stay ends. My Ocean Rewards account is restricted; can I still use a Digital Key? Unfortunately, your Ocean Rewards account must be in good standing with Ocean Casino and not be restricted to access the Ocean Rewards app. If your account is restricted for some reason, then you will NOT be able to use Digital Keys.
