Q&A With The Country’s Most Celebrated Drag Queens

Get ready for a day of glam! On Saturday, August 20 at Nola’s Bar & Lounge  celebrates Ocean Pride with live performances from some of the country’s most celebrated talent. Miss Paradise 2022 Crystal Envy and Miss Paradise 2021 Jolina Jasmine will dazzle the Ocean crowd, alongside East Coast favorites like Logan Hardcore, Kimmy Sumony & Luxx Noir London. Veronika Blair will be rounding out the immensely talented roster for an afternoon that will be truly unforgettable. 

This event is supporting Garden State Equality, New Jersey’s largest LGBTQ+ advocacy program.

Logan Hardcore

Ocean Casino Resort: What is your most memorable drag performance moment? 

Logan Hardcore: There really are so many.  Fire island provided many amazing moments for me.  There is nothing like performing for hundreds of people who are just thrilled to see you do what you do best.  I am a married man with lots of love around me, but there is no love like the love from an audience when its all aligned perfectly.

OCR: What is a quintessential drag performance from you like? 

LH: My drag has evolved over the years.  It's always going to be one to remember.  There will always be some wiggling.  There may be some comedy, there may be some acrobatics, you truly never know.  I tell a story with my face, and just want to ensure that everyone has a damn good time.

OCR: Where do you want to be with your drag career in five years? 

LH: I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't rely on drag for my survival.  I get to do it when I want to do it. I can say no to gigs. I would love to do a stand up show and I would also love to have a solid one woman stage show.  My drags evolving into more of a theatrical experience, so that's where I see it going.

Luxx Noir London 

Ocean Casino Resort: What is your most memorable drag performance moment? 

Luxx Noir Performing my talent number in the Ultimate Diva pageant and getting the ONLY standing ovation of the night.

OCR: What is a quintessential drag performance from you like? 

LNL: Lots of energy, hair flipping, and a stunning look! 

Where do you want to be with your drag career in five years? 

LNL: World domination.

Crystal Envy

Ocean Casino Resort: What is your most memorable drag performance moment? 

Crystal Envy: My most memorable drag performance would have to be the entire night of the Miss Paradise 2022 pageant, the entire night I felt so confident with every single thing I was presenting on the stage and the rush I felt from the audience was absolutely insane. Winning 4 out of 5 categories? I mean? WHAT!! That’s crazy! I couldn’t believe it while it was happening. Still feels crazy. 

OCR: What is a quintessential drag performance from all of yours that you like the most? 

CE: My favorite performance would probably have to be my pride performance from Vera Cherry Hills Pride Showcase. The atmosphere was so much fun, center of the dance floor, surrounded by hundreds of people screaming and so excited to be there. I didn’t even do anything THAT crazy, it was just an awesome energy everyone in the room could feel. 

OCR: Where do you want to be with your drag career in five years? 

CE: Well, in 5 years I’ll be 30. Which is still so young, but BABY. My body is already feeling the drag take a toll! Throwing your body around in 6 inch heels, hair, body, makeup, jewelry and costuming is a lot-but I LOVE it. I plan on continuing to pursue the superstar that Crystal is and taking her to new heights, new levels, and a bigger audience! I’d like to do all of this while also maintaining my Bridal Makeup Business Christopher Cianci Artistry LLC. I always like to say that Chris is Crystals sugar daddy, without him she’d be no where. And vice versa, drag makeup is what got me into beauty makeup at a young age.

Kimmy Sumony

Ocean Casino Resort: What is your most memorable drag performance moment? 

Kimmy Sumony: One or my most memorable drag performances was definitely when I was asked to perform on the main stage at Jersey City Pride. It was an honor being
able to show my art of drag at my hometowns festival, which I had been attending for years prior. 
OCR: What is a quintessential drag performance from you like? 

KS: A drag performance from me is sultry, sexy. A little silly here and there to make people laugh with some shucking and jiving. I love the art that is drag and female impersonation so I want that to be portrayed in all of my performances, as much as possible.

OCR: Where do you want to be with your drag career in five years? 

KS: In five years, I want to be performing on stages all over the world. I want to take my art to the next level, travel for work to entertain people all over the world.

Jolina Jasmine 

OCR: What is your most memorable drag performance moment? 

Jolina Jasmine: My most memorable drag performance was when I was featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore. Definitely a great experience. 

OCR: What is a quintessential drag performance from you like? 

JJ: A lot of glamour, high energy, and over the top dance moves. Maybe even a flip or a split if you’re lucky!

OCR: Where do you want to be with your drag career in five years? 

JJ: In five years I’d like to be recognized on a more global scale. I would also like to put out music!
