Philanthropy Recap: Ocean Casino Resort’s Charitable Giving in 2024

Published: January 2025

2024 was a banner year for Ocean Casino Resort. We hosted countless events, offered the hottest entertainment on the Boardwalk, and celebrated big wins and casino jackpots with first-time and veteran resort visitors alike.

But what’s the Ocean Casino Resort family most proud of? Our charitable giving in 2024. Last year, we donated $250,000 to impactful organizations—and that’s not counting our donated time and other resources. While we focused primarily on organizations helping the Atlantic City Boardwalk community, Atlantic County, and New Jersey, we branched out to organizations with a larger reach, too.

Let’s break down our overall approach to philanthropy, touch on our partner organizations from 2024, and show you how to get involved in our charitable giving projects in 2025.

Ocean Cares 2024

Ocean Casino Resort’s charitable arm—Ocean Cares—is dedicated to supporting both local and national organizations that are making the world a better place. We try to focus our philanthropy in a few different areas, including:

  • Community
  • Health & Human Services
  • Culture
  • Education
  • Seniors

This isn’t an exhaustive list, but it demonstrates our desire for diverse charitable giving; we want to make an impact on as many groups as we possibly can.

How do we do that? While we allocate funds for philanthropy, we also give our guests a chance to make a difference via programs like Change for Change. Using our Change for Change initiative, casino patrons can donate their small change slips to Ocean Cares partner organizations—groups doing good on the Atlantic City Boardwalk and beyond.

2025 Partner Organizations

Let’s zoom in on our partner organizations in 2025. We chose these groups because they’re making undeniably positive impacts in our community.

The Humane Society of Atlantic County

The Humane Society of Atlantic County has been supporting our county’s pet population since 1968. In recent years, they’ve been focused on:

  • Preventing pet overpopulation via spay and neuter programs
  • Increasing the number of pets adopted into loving homes from animal shelters
  • Providing food and medical services to the feral animal population county-wide
  • Serving as a resource for humane animal education

All of these initiatives support their overarching mission: to promote healthy relationships between pets and people.

Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) is a member of Feeding America—a national organization dedicated to curbing widespread hunger and food insecurity.

As New Jersey’s largest anti-hunger organization, CFBNJ fosters collaborative partnerships across various sectors to address the root causes of hunger and poverty. For nearly 50 years, they’ve provided food and other resources to neighbors in need.

CFBNJ services 15 of our state’s 21 counties; an estimated 675,000 people facing food insecurity reside in these counties.

Jewish Family Services

Jewish Family Services assists more than 15,000 people—adults, children, and seniors alike—in Atlantic and Cape May counties each year. They provide services like:

  • Meals and food assistance
  • Housing assistance
  • Vocational training
  • Counseling

JFS’s mission is simple: to help people in need. Founded over a century ago, this local organization aims to improve lives on the Boardwalk and beyond.

Sister Jean’s Kitchen, Pantry & Garden

Sister Jean’s Kitchen, Pantry & Garden has been working to provide healthy food and community resources in Atlantic City since 1986.

One of their most important services is their Pantry—a community-supported resource where neighbors in need can shop for nutritious proteins, fresh produce, and other staples to prepare wholesome meals.

Believers in the purpose of food and the power of community, this organization works passionately to end hunger in AC.

Hope Exists Foundation

The Hope Exists Foundation provides numerous social support services to residents of Atlantic County, including:

  • Connections to substance abuse treatment and recovery options
  • Veterans outreach programs
  • Food distribution
  • Harm reduction via Narcan distribution
  • Help navigating available social services

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Via their slate of services, Hope Exists Foundation creates positive change for people in Atlantic City.

Oceanside Family Success Center

Oceanside Family Success Center is a community-based, family-centered venue where neighbors can gather, seek support, and spend time.

Located in the heart of uptown Atlantic City, the Oceanside Family Success Center is a hub for family support, interactive workshops, activities, group meetings, and more. The best part? Everything at the Center is free and open to all.

Special Initiatives During the Holidays

In addition to partnering with the organizations above through Ocean Cares, we also took part in a few special charitable initiatives during the Season of Giving in 2024.

This holiday season, we provided:

Some of the above initiatives were spearheaded by our staff—people who live and work in Atlantic City themselves. Our Boardwalk community is the heartbeat of everything we do at Ocean Casino Resort; we’re passionate about helping our community members thrive, especially during the holiday season.

Cheers to Another Year of Positive Change
