Ocean's Team Member Drive Gives Back To Three Local Organizations

Published: December 2021
Our Season of Giving initiative continues for a number of organizations, but Ocean Casino Resort is also able to rely on our loyal and generous team members to contribute in numerous ways as well. From November 27th through December 27th, our Team Member Drive has continued, with team members dropping off various items at three local and worthy organizations.

Atlantic City Covenant House is one of our Season of Giving partners, and during the Sleep Out this past November (which helped raise close to $12,000), Ocean selected the sponsorship level for baby care. This provides eight babies with one month worth of baby formula and diapers. In an expansion to our initial sponsorship, we decided to focus on the young mothers who reside at Covenant House with their infants and toddlers. We asked team members to donate both diapers and formula, while Ocean also provided clothes, blankets and toys for the two babies that currently reside at the Atlantic City Covenant House.

Evolving from a small church basement, Adelaide’s Place remains one of the most prominent spaces for homeless women in the Atlantic City area. This day center has received items from our team members including hats, gloves, socks and toiletries. Additionally, most of the items collected were feminine products, crucial to the women that utilize this organization's services. Adelaide’s Place is now able to keep the items on hand for their residents in-need, and due to the high cost of these very products, that has proven invaluable to Adelaide’s Place.

The Atlantic City Rescue Mission was founded in 1964 and has evolved to a preschool as well as an Overcomers Program (a residential program addressing drug, alcohol and gambling issues). While this year Ocean delivered cases of non-perishable food items and coats to the AC Rescue Mission, our team members have been donating items as well, including hats, scarves, socks, gloves, toiletry items, and much-needed clothes. AC Rescue Mission continues to provide services to the homeless and working poor in Atlantic City, which includes mothers and children. These items will prove invaluable to them in 2022 and beyond.
