Ocean x Orange: Cool Collaborations Coming to Atlantic City This Summer Return to BlogPublished: June 2023 Just steps away from Atlantic City’s world-famous boardwalk sit some of the best cuisine and nightlife the city has to offer. The Orange Loop is a three-block stretch of businesses comprising divine dining, lively lounges, brilliant bars and beer halls, and cozy, chic cafes. Besides the wealth of food, drink, and leisure options we’ve been dishing out for five years in Ocean Casino Resort, this lively area houses some of our favorite spots in the city. So, to mark half a decade of sizzling bets and exhilarating entertainment in America’s Playground, we’re teaming up with a few exceptional Orange Loopers for some unique celebratory collaborations. From mouthwateringly tempting chocolate to a godly gin cocktail, we’ve got some truly special offerings lined up for our birthday bash. If fun and flavor are two foundational Fs in your life, you’re going to want to get down to A.C. to see what’s in our goodie bag this year. The Lowdown on the Orange Loop Generally, party invites don’t start with history lessons, but this tidbit is too interesting to pass up, revealing how this iconic location got its unique name. Flashback to the early 1930s, when various informal versions of the board game Monopoly were being played throughout the United States. A realtor based out of Atlantic City, Jesse Railford, saw an opportunity to standardize and market the game. While designing his official version of Monopoly, Railford took inspiration from the layout of his native A.C. He grouped neighborhoods by color, choosing to assign orange to the area surrounding: New York Avenue St. James Place Tennessee Avenue The physical layout of these three streets has essentially stayed the same since the 1930s. Now, fast forward nearly 100 years, and there’s hardly an Atlantic City native who doesn’t refer to this neighborhood as the Orange Loop. Bound by the beach on its lower end and Pacific Avenue (a member of the green clan on the Monopoly board) on the other side, the Orange Loop is a compact and walkable district. As they say, however, good things come in small packages—and, to that end, the area is absolutely packed with impeccable bars and restaurants. Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall and Ocean Casino Resort Pair Up for Paint and Pints Tennessee Avenue runs up the eastern end of the Orange Loop and Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall sits close to its intersection with Pacific Avenue. With over 100 varieties available, it’s one of A.C.’s foremost destinations for beer diversity. This summer, a new brew is planting itself on tap and taking root in the hearts of beer aficionados in Atlantic City. Seeds of the Ocean is a crisp collaborative effort from The Seed Brewery and Ocean Casino Resort. With a smooth body and refreshing hit on the palate, this flavorful pale lager is brewed with: Pilsner malt Pale barley Marigold Fresh and aged hops The result is a remarkably mellow and slightly citrusy flavor that’s sure to paint a smile across the face of anyone lucky enough to take a sip. And, speaking of paint, serving Seeds of the Ocean isn’t the only way that Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall and Ocean Casino Resort are teaming up this summer. The beer hall has a wonderful outdoor courtyard where patrons can enjoy the weather and a pint together. To beautify this lovely section even further, we’re commissioning a three-panel mural to be designed and painted by the Atlantic City Arts Foundation. Be sure to check it out when you stop by this summer, and enjoy some Seeds of the Ocean as you appreciate the art. Raising the Bar for Chocolate Flavors With Ocean Casino Resort and Bar 32 Located just a few doors down from Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall is Bar 32, Atlantic City’s premier chocolatier. While chocolate is the focus at Bar 32, owners Lee Sanchez and Mark Callazzo are far from one trick ponies. So, expect charming cocktails, divine desserts, and meticulously-chosen music within. Likewise, in line with their propensity to excel, the artisans at Bar 32 have delivered not one, but three sensational chocolate-based flavor bombs to celebrate our fifth birthday: The Party Pretzel Bar The Salty Peanut Butter Bar The Berry Pretzel Bar This trio of delectable delights will be available at Bar 32 and in Bottled within Ocean Casino Resort this summer. Stock up on these sweet souvenirs and, while you’re at it, enjoy another signature treat: our Chocolate Cake Martini birthday cocktail. This rich and indulgent drink features 48 Blocks Chocolate Martini from Little Water Distillery, a creamy strawberry float, and decadent chocolate shavings garnished overtop—courtesy of Bar 32, of course. Our chocolatier friends will be serving it up, but The Chocolate Cake Martini will also be available at our Birthday Bar Pop-up Experience (starting June 30). Rhythm & Spirits and Ocean Casino Resort Shake Things Up With a Celebratory Cocktail Turn left out of Bar 32 and take a few steps toward the boardwalk. You’ll soon be standing outside of one of Atlantic City’s most renowned Italian-American restaurants: Rhythm & Spirits. And, as if curating craveable chocolate wasn’t impressive enough, Mark and Lee purvey premium pasta, paninis, and pizza here as well. Both restaurateurs grew up with strong Italian-American traditions in their households—histories that clearly shine through in the authenticity and quality of their dishes. Their grandmothers aren’t their only inspirations, however, as Mark and Lee list several factors that influence their dishes like: Travel Culture Experiences This summer, they’re giving us the best birthday present a friend could ask for: a signature drink to celebrate with. Just as they provide the base for our Chocolate Birthday Cake Martini, Atlantic City-based distillers Little Water will be lending the liquor for the Oceans 5. No, it’s not the latest installment in a series of heist-themed blockbusters. The Oceans 5 is a gin-based craft cocktail tailor-made in honor of Ocean Casino Resort. If you’re dying to know more about it, there’s only one place to find out: Rhythm & Spirits. So, if you want to give us a little birthday present this summer, order it alongside your meal and say “Cheers!” to five years of action in A.C. Sources: Big Think.
