Ocean Casino Resort is Proud to Host the LGBTQ+ Community Across a Plethora of Premier Pride Parties

Since our inception in 2018, Ocean Casino Resort has been a proud supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. We’ve routinely partnered with queer artists and activists to host some of the hottest parties, events, and socials on the eastern seaboard.

It’s been almost six years of excitement, but our love for the community only continues to grow. We’ve already hosted an amazing drag happy hour at our brilliant and beautiful Balcony Bar, but that was just the start of 2024’s fantastic festivities. 

Here, we’ll bring you up to speed on the exciting LGBTQ+ events we’ve got in store for the year and highlight the powerful partnerships that make them possible. Thanks to everyone who has already come out, and to anyone planning to join future LGBTQ+ events at Ocean Casino Resort, get ready to make some epic memories!

April 13th Saw the Happiest of Happy Hours at Balcony Bar

April 13th was a time for celebration at Ocean Casino Resort. On that sizzling Saturday, worlds collided at our very own Balcony Bar when two acclaimed drag queens partnered with one dazzling DJ to bring an unforgettable happy hour to life.

With luxurious lounge seating, craft cocktails, and exhilarating VIP sportsbook betting, Balcony Bar was already THE happening spot in Atlantic City. When Jolina Jasmine and Dallas DuBois brought their acts to the mezzanine for our Ocean Pride Happy Hour: Spring Fling, however, things really caught fire.

Jolina is a New Jersey native and two-time Miss Paradise crown winner. Her unique, playful flair has led her to perform in drag shows across the country and, on April 13th, she set the stage ablaze with her dazzling dance moves and sensational sensuality.

New York’s Dallas DuBois is not only an accomplished drag queen, but likewise a notable actor and beauty pageant competitor. He’s been in several movies and a variety of high-profile television series, including:

• Six Degrees
• General Hospital: Night Shift
• Primetime: What Would You Do?

He dazzled onlookers as he put his wealth of experience, skill, and artistry on display for a sensational Spring Fling set.

To close the night out, Philadelphia-based DJ Carl Michaels spun a set full of bassy bangers and lax lounge vibes. As resident DJ at gay haven Paradise in Asbury Park, Carl is a mainstay of the New Jersey queer community and always brings the party at LGBTQ+ events. 

Then, right as the music was winding down, Ocean Casino Resort took the opportunity to thank the two main partners we’ll be working with this year to put on a powerful parade of pride events:

• AC Pride – AC Pride is Atlantic City’s leading LGBTQ+ organization. They support all kinds of local programs that empower queer folk to be themselves and live freely. From community Friendsgivings to cookouts and, of course, local parties, they’re integral to AC’s biggest queer events and we’re proud to partner with them in 2024.
• Garden State Equality – Garden State Equality is the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy group in New Jersey and one of the most successful in the nation. With over 150,000 local members, they’ve been able to elevate queer voices and provide safe spaces and fun events to the community for two decades.

With these two prominent partners by our side, we’ve been able to cook up a tantalizing schedule of pride events in 2024. Many are still under wraps but, for now, we’ll give you a small taste of what we have in store for Pride Month in June.

We’re Bringing the Party on June 23rd with Our First Ocean Pride Sunday Tea Dance

Mark your calendar—Sunday, June 23rd is a day you’re not going to want to miss. Right as the final week of Pride Month is getting ready to kick off, we’ll be hosting the hottest party of the season.

Located in The Cabanas at Ocean, Ocean Pride Sunday Tea Dance will be an evening of revelry underneath the Atlantic stars. Located just steps off the beach but tucked away from Ocean Casino Resort’s main gaming area, The Cabanas at Ocean offer the perfect venue for both excitement and intimacy. Alongside AC Pride and Garden State Equality, the event’s beneficiaries, we’ve planned the perfect party complete with:

• Specialty Pride-themed rainbow cocktails that are as delicious as they are beautiful
• Picturesque photo ops with the sun setting over the sea on your doorstep
• Timeless and modern dance classics spun by the one and only Hex Hector, a Grammy-winning house and trance DJ with an extensive catalog of bassy bops

The event kicks off in the late afternoon on June 23rd. If you’d like to elevate the experience, you and your crew can rent your own private cabana close by and still join in on the party.
