Ocean Casino Resort & Garden State Equality Team Up To Show Their Pride

Nationwide, the month of June means Pride month. The LGBTQ community and their dedicated allies come together to celebrate whatever it is that means "pride" to each and every one of us. For the past fifteen months, exhibiting that pride has posed a bit of a challenge, and this year's Jersey Pride celebration has been postponed until October. The community still has a great deal to celebrate though, and why wait? Ocean Casino Resort is partnering with Garden State Equality for their own pride filled weekend on June 12th.

Garden State Equality serves as New Jersey's largest LGBTQ advocacy and education organization, with over 150,000 members. Their work on Education, Health (in areas such as Youth Homelessness) and offering resources to the LGBTQ community and their allies has proven to be crucial. The work that GSE does truly creates change; for example, as a result of a law that they passed in 2018, New Jersey became the first state in the nation to have a Transgender Equality Task Force. The Equality Walk serves as Garden State Equality's largest annual community fundraiser, raising over $100,000. The event has two locations, Atlantic City & Montclair, and Ocean Casino Resort is proud to be serving as a "home base” this year for the Atlantic City Equality Walk.

This year, Ocean Casino Resort is hosting a glittering happy hour for the LGBTQ community and their allies at the Highwater Wine Bar on Saturday, June 12th, starting at 5pm. Cocktails will be flowing and two of New Jersey's most buzzed-about drag performers will be on hand to add their own patented brand of dynamic ambiance to the event. New Jersey's consistently crowned Victoria Courtez will be on hand, as will "New Jersey's Hardest Working Housewife" Anida Tension.

While at Highwater, be sure to grab an Ocean PRIDE cocktail; it's a refreshing blend of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, iced tea, lemonade, and seasonal berries. To continue the party, simply turn your weekend into a mini-getaway.
