It’s Giving Season and Ocean Casino Resort Has Gifts for the Atlantic City Community Return to BlogPublished: December 2023 It’s Giving Season and Ocean Casino Resort Has Gifts for the Atlantic City Community Here at Ocean Casino Resort, we’re always focused on giving. We give our guests reasons to smile, cheer, and come back for more exhilarating action. And when it comes to our community, we’re dishing out more than just fun times. We want to say “Thank you” to all the people who made this last year one of our finest. From exceptional musical acts at Ovation Hall to the hottest bets in the city, we’ve hosted plenty of amazing times at Ocean Casino Resort in 2023—but these are only possible because of the unparalleled AC community. So, to show how truly grateful we are, we’ve got a month of charity events, donation drives, and all-around giving back planned this December. Let’s dive into all of it. Ocean Casino Resort is Funding Local Charity Initiatives All Month Long Gifts and celebrations are cherished parts of the season for many. For the less fortunate, however, the holidays can be a reminder of just how tight their budget is. Ocean Casino Resort doesn’t want anyone to be left out this season. So, to spread the holiday cheer to as many local charities as possible, we’re funding a variety of initiatives. The Winners of Our Ocean Cares Campaign We asked our team members to spotlight four local charities that they think are doing exceptional work in the New Jersey area. This year, Ocean Casino Resort is donating $4,000 to: Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City - Serving school age children and teens (ages 6-18) in both after-school and summer programs, as well as various other initiatives, focusing on five areas that contribute to well rounded, inquisitive and active participants. Tunnel to Towers - Assists America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. We are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001. The Humane Society of Atlantic County - The Humane Society's mission is to curb pet over-population through clinic spay and neuter programs and increasing the number of animals adopted into loving homes. Street Love Foundation - Offers fresh lunches, living essentials, clothing and other items to those in need in our local community. Atlantic County Toys for Kids In the season of giving, many parents may feel embarrassed if they can’t afford the gifts their children ask for. We don’t think any child should miss out on the holiday season. That’s why Ocean Casino Resort is pledging $2,000 plus an array of toys to make sure every kid is happy over the holidays. Avanzar Wishlists Similarly to Atlantic City Toys Kids, Avanzar is helping needy families this season by fulfilling wishlists of toys and other goods they’ll need for the holidays. Ocean Casino Resort has donated $2,000 to help them reach as many families as possible this December. Community Food Bank, Southern Branch Everyone deserves a holiday feast fit for royalty. To make sure bellies are full in America’s Playground going into 2024, Ocean Casino Resort has donated $2,000 to the local food bank via the AC community’s Operation Help initiative. That’s Not All—Ocean Casino Resort is Making More Donations Economic support is necessary for local charities to continue providing critical aid to the AC community. Monetary donations aren’t the only way to help out the less fortunate in Atlantic City, however. On top of our charitable contributions, Ocean Casino Resort also: Provided a scrumptious lunch and warm winter coats to disenfranchised women at Adelaide’s Place during Thanksgiving Distributed more warm winter coats to members of the Mud Girls collective Sponsored a gingerbread house workshop and donated toys to the Oceanside Family Success Center Donated to the Egg Harbor Township Police Activities League in support of their Shop with a Hero campaign Wrote over 200 holiday cards for Contact Cape-Atlantic, a non-profit that calls to check in on elderly and disabled individuals who live alone And, throughout December, we have further plans to: Provide breakfast to volunteers at The Salvation Army’s Christmas with Santa event on the 16th Hold a hat, scarf, and sock drive amongst our own team members Facilitate a player development coat drive benefiting The Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City Donate 100 duffle bags to children and teens transitioning from safe shelters back to caring homes via the Atlantic County Center for Family Services Give away $1,000 in gift cards to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through The Arc of Atlantic County Help babies start their lives off right by providing blankets and toys to AtlantiCare’s Pediatric Care Unit Aid our nation’s veterans by distributing toiletries and coats through AMVets Post 9-1-1 Provide breakfast to children and families attending The Salvation Army’s Christmas with Santa.
