ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – OCTOBER 15, 2018 — Ocean Resort Casino, Atlantic City’s iconic beachfront destination, announced today that Kesha and The Struts will perform at Ovation Hall on Friday, November 16, 2018.
Kesha’s latest album Rainbow, called “an artistic feat” by Entertainment Weekly and “the best music of her career” by Rolling Stone, marks a new beginning for Kesha. Based around inner strength and musical exploration, her latest number one album finds Kesha at “her defiant, unbridled best” (USA Today), boasting collaborators ranging from Ben Folds to Eagles of Death Metal to Dolly Parton. The album has garnered praise from the New York Times, Billboard, NPR Music and more, and earned Kesha her first-ever GRAMMY nominations at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards for “Best Pop Vocal Album” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” for “Praying.”
When Kesha released her debut album Animal in 2010, Billboard declared her its Hot 100 Artist and her debut single, “TiK ToK” as the number one Hot 100 song. It was also the most played song and the world’s top-selling track that year. Animal has sold more than eight million album equivalents worldwide, and Kesha has sold more than 13 million total album equivalents worldwide.
Kesha has had nine Top 10 hits on The Billboard Hot 100, including four Number One singles on Top 40 Radio – “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug,” “Die Young,” and “Timber.” Kesha took home the MTV VMA for Best New Act in November 2010 and was nominated for two American Music Awards, three MTV VMA Awards, and six Billboard Awards.
The Struts – who have been called “one of the most exciting and electric performers in rock today” by Yahoo! Music – formed in Derby, England, in 2012. They initially found inspiration in groups like Oasis and the Libertines before discovering the glam bands that would one day shape their own sound. Before ever releasing their first studio album, they opened for The Rolling Stones in front of a crowd of 80,000 in Paris, were hand-picked by Mötley Crüe to serve as the supporting act for their four last-ever performances and toured the United States on a string of sold-out shows.
The Struts debut studio album, Everybody Wants, was released only in the United Kingdom and received positive reviews, which led to their first United States release, the EP Have You Heard. The success of the EP was highlighted by the lead single “Could Have Been Me,” which hit number one on Spotify’s viral chart, earned more than 2.5 million Vevo/YouTube views, and shot to the Top Five on Modern Rock radio charts.
Their popularity continued to grow, bolstered by appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night with Seth Meyers, as well as a handful of singles including “One Night Only” in 2017, then “Body Talks” – which they later remixed in collaboration with Kesha – and “Primadonna Like Me” in 2018.
The Struts second studio album, Young and Dangerous, is slated for release on October 26, 2018.
